College Scoops Butcher’s Award

Congratulations to the College’s meat technology department which was recently nominated as one of three national finalists for Training Scheme of the Year in the Meat Management Awards 2010.
College assistant director Gordon Sibbald and meat technology tutors Chris Moorby and Dave Clapham attended the prestigious awards ceremony at the Kensington Royal Gardens, London on 9th June to collect their award They were delighted to accept the award from former England footballer Gordon Banks OBE.
The award was given for the College’s Advanced Certificate in Meat and Poultry, and although the team came second they are very proud to have been nominated. Nominations are requested from the meat industry and as such carry a national endorsement of quality provision.
Gordon said: “Danby Butchers will proudly display their award certificate until next year when hopefully we will replace it with the winner’s trophy!”
